Kutaisi is a city in west Georgia. It’s home to the centuries-old Bagrati Cathedral. On the city’s outskirts, the Gelati Monastery is a medieval cathedral with elaborate frescoes. The nearby hillside Motsameta Monastery has martyrs’ remains. Historical Georgian manuscripts, ceramics and textiles are on display at the Kutaisi State Historical Museum. To the northwest, Prometheus Cave features petrified waterfalls. One of the best things about visiting Kutaisi is that not only you can enjoy an interesting yet overlooked city, but you can also use it as a base to explore the area around. And there are so many great places you can see!

With this private driving tour, after breakfast in a hotel in Kutaisi we head directly to Martvili Canyon for a rafting adventure. Enjoy boat or walking tour in another natural wonder near Kutaisi, plus take in the views from the suspended bridge at Okatse Canyon. Explore mountain river, natural stone bridges, and waterfalls.Venture underground to marvel at the stalactite and stalagmite formations in the Cave of Prometheus (Kumistavi) before the
return drive to Kutaisi.
